However, honed tiles are all the more susceptible to dirt and stains. The stain resistant property of leathered stone lies somewhere between polished and honed tiles

However, the only impediment with marble tile is that they are sensitive to cleaning agents. The natural stone surface gets etched due to acidic cleaners like orange juice or vinegar. This leads to removal of the polished layer. Hence, it is advisable to use honed or leathered tiles for kitchen applications. You can also appoint a professional to refinish your marble tiles.
